Global launch event: “FORB and Gender Equality – Enemies or Allies?”
Monday 17th January 14:00-15:30 CET
To celebrate the launch of the FORB Learning Platform’s latest online course resource “FORB and Gender Equality – Enemies or Allies?”, exploring the intersection between the right to Freedom of Religion or Belief and Women’s Rights to Equality, we have put together a very special online event.
Program
We will be joined by a handful of experts: Senior Advisor on FoRB with OSCE, Susan Kerr; Equality Now’s Global Lead for Legal Equality and Access to Justice, Antonia Kirkland; Co-Director of Musawah - Campaign for Justice in Muslim Family Laws, Huda Jawad; and main course creator Lisa Winther, NORFORB affiliate and Senior Advisor of Digni.
Guided by our speakers and your questions, we will explore together the intersection between the right to Freedom of Religion or Belief and Women’s Rights to Equality – are these rights in opposition or are they compatible? Are they enemies or can they actually be allies; interdependent and mutually reinforcing?
The event includes a tour and a taste of the FORB Learning Platform latest online course, covering this exact topic. The course can be accessed here: https://fabo.org/norforb/forb-gender-equality
